My daughter got an old Toshiba Satellite 1105 and it had a password
to access the BIOS. I fiddled with it for days before I ran across this
site and could not make any headway. When I saw the hash decryption
note, and I knew that I had seen the code flash by when I entered the
wrong password three times, I knew that I was onto something if I could
just get that code. It flashed by so fast when the third bad password
was entered that I thought that I might not be able to ever get it, but I
pushed the pause key at almost the same time as the third 'enter'
password and it stuck. Using that code, I was able to get several
possible backdoor passwords from the site. The first one worked, allowed
me into the BIOS and I was then able to clear the passwords for the
'supervisor' which was what was set. So now all of the passwords are
cleared, and I have control over the computer to allow me to go through
and set it up for my daughter. I am so very pleased that I did not have
to disassemble the laptop since that is a real chore and one that I
don't even like to think about. I owe you Dogbert!!! I don't know who it
was that wrote the code for the hash decoding, but whoever it was is a
hugely appreciated soul!!!
